Army Observes Three Days of Mourning in Memory of Former COAS

The Head of Armed force Staff (COAS), Lt.- Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has pronounced a three-day time of grieving, beginning Monday, to pay tribute to previous COAS, Maj.- Gen. Chris Alli, who died on Sunday in Lagos.

The Chief, Armed force Advertising, Brig.- Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, revealed this in a proclamation on Monday in Abuja and units had been coordinated to lift their banners at half-pole, as an image of aggregate sorrow and regard, during the time.

He said the order likewise commanded all work force to wear a dark hand band in recognition of the late previous COAS.

As per him, late Maj.- Gen. Alli devoted his life to serving the country through the Nigerian Armed force with relentless responsibility and amazing skill in the guard of our country.

“In this season of misery, the Nigerian Armed force remains in fortitude with the family, companions and friends and family of the late Maj.- Gen. Chris Alli.

“The Nigerian armed force charges all faculty to stick rigorously to these guidelines, as a praiseworthy characteristic and regard for our fallen legend.

“This time of grieving is a chance for all to ponder his achievements and the penances made by our chivalrous warriors with regards to our dear country,” he said.
