Abdulahi Maikaba, head coach of Kano Pillars, believes club legend Rabiu Ali should be given greater protection by referees during matches.
Maikaba sees the gesture as a reward for his unselfish commitment to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The senior strategist also emphasized the value of the veteran midfielder to the club.
This season, the 43-year-old midfielder has appeared in all seven NPFL games for Sai Masu Gida.
“Rabi’u Ali has played all of the full minutes of the league’s seven games this season,” Maikaba told SOUTHERNROBIN in Lagos.
“He has shown great class, discipline, and organization of the team.”
“He needs protection from the referees because he is a legend and a player who has stayed long in the league.”
