Shooting Stars Receive A Lift From Goalie Ovunda

Darlington Ovunda, goalkeeper for the Shooting Stars, is ready to return to the squad following an injury hiatus.

Ovunda suffered a foot injury during Oluyole Warriors’ matchday six match against Remo Stars.

According to Gbenga Ogunbote, Shooting Stars’ technical adviser, the club’s medical team has assured him of his comeback.

The former Rivers United goalkeeper did not play in the Shooting Stars’ home match against the Niger Tornadoes at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Ovunda was replaced in goal by second-string goalkeeper Chinedu Anozie.

This season, he has made six appearances for Shooting Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League, keeping one clean sheet.
