Breaking: Governor of Plateau LG Imposes a 24-hour Curfew

Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State, has imposed an immediate 24-hour curfew on the Mangu Local Government Area.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Gyang Bere, the governor’s director of press and public affairs, verified the development.

He said that the decision was made in response to the area’s deteriorating security conditions.

“Governor Mutfwang took the decision after consulting with the relevant security agencies,” the statement said in that section.

“Until further notice, he said, only those with vital jobs are permitted to relocate inside the local government region.

“In order to restore peace and order in the area, he encouraged all individuals, especially those who resided in the Mangu Local Government Area, to abide by the mandate and support the security personnel by offering trustworthy information.

“Despite the government’s efforts to put an end to terrorist elements’ operations, he bemoaned the fact that some people are still committed to create an atmosphere of insecurity in the state.

In addition to offering his condolences to the relatives of the deceased and injured, he reassured them that the government will not give up on establishing enduring peace in the state.

“He said that as soon as the security situation improves, the curfew will be reviewed.”
