Following the recent increase in kidnapping and killings by bandits in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and other parts of the country, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, convened a critical meeting with the Force Management Team and commanders of Police Tactical Squads.
The meeting was called to devise strategies to counter the activities of bandits terrorizing different parts of the country.
According to Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP expressed concern about the nation’s growing security crisis and emphasized the need for decisive action.
While assuring Nigerians, particularly residents of the FCT, about improved security, the IGP “ordered the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Operations, to personally coordinate the upscaled security strategies.”
Emplaced to eliminate kidnappers and other criminal elements in the FCT and immediately restore normalcy.”
