Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court has remanded Onyeka Mbaka in a correctional facility for alleged defilement of a 15-year-old girl.
Oshodi remanded Mbaka in Kirikiri Maximum Correctional Center pending the outcome of his bail application and the start of trial.
He then continued the case until March 22 for trial.
The defendant, whose residential address was not given, was arraigned by the Lagos State Government for defilement.
He did, however, plead not guilty, Following his not guilty plea, state counsel Ms Bukola Okeowo requested that the defendant be remanded accordingly.
committed the offence sometime in March 2023 at No. 16, Moshalasi Street, in the Ilasa area of Lagos.
According to her, the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
Okeowo had previously stated in court that the prosecution intends to call three witnesses to prove the defendant’s charge.
