The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has demanded the immediate release of Mr. Philip Aivoji, the chairman of its Lagos State branch, who was abducted on Thursday.
The party’s national publicity secretary, Debo Ologunagba, made this announcement on Saturday in Abuja.
The group voiced worries for Aivoji’s security and well-being, especially in light of his advanced age.
Aivoji was abducted while traveling from Ibadan to Lagos for a party job when he was taken on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Ologunagba denounced the wave of ransom kidnappings, senseless murders, community raids, and other acts of terrorism that have been occurring all over the nation.
He claimed that the unsettling pattern required President Bola Tinubu to move quickly to secure the release of everyone detained in kidnappers’ lairs in a variety of sections of the nation.
But our party values and honors the brave men and women in uniform for their nationalistic spirit, bravery, and tenacity in the face of kidnapping, terrorism, and other social injustices.
This is in spite of enormous obstacles.
The PDP demands that the security high command act quickly to ensure Aivoji’s release as well as the release of all other Nigerians who are being held captive in the camps of their kidnappers across the nation.
“At this crucial juncture, our party urges Nigerians to remain vigilant and extend their support to our security agencies as they work to protect our country,” stated Ologunagba.
