The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested a suspected member of a car theft syndicate that specializes in stealing vehicles from where they are parked in Ogun and selling them off in Lagos.
The Order’s Advertising Official, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, affirmed the capture to SOUTHERNROBIN on Tuesday in Lagos.
Hundeyin said that police agents from Elere Division, who were on pause and search footwatch on Friday, at around 6:00 pm, along Agege Engine Street, did the capture.
He stated that a Sienna Space Bus carrying four men was seized by the officers during the stop-and-search operation.
The picture producer expressed that while the officials were scrutinizing the inhabitants, they unexpectedly bounced down from the vehicle and ran away.
“They were sought after and one of them, essentially recognized as John, 28 years old, was captured, while others got away.
“The suspect guaranteed he was shrunk by one of the escaping suspects, whose name he asserted he didn’t have the foggiest idea, to drive the vehicle from Abeokuta, Ogun capital, to Ijora in Lagos.
He added, “The suspect also claimed that two of the unidentified suspects joined the vehicle on their way to Lagos before the police interception.”
Hundeyin said that a fundamental examination uncovered that the said vehicle was taken out from where it was left at Kemta in Ogun.
He said that the suspect and the vehicle were in their care, while endeavors were on to capture the escaping individuals from the organization.
