The Kwara State Order of the Nigeria Security and Common Safeguard Corps (NSCDC) has captured a 51-year-elderly person, Mr. Idowu Mahmud, for purportedly assaulting a 14-year-old young lady.
The occurrence, as per Southernrobin checks, occurred at Gbaagba Air terminal Street in Ilorin West Neighborhood Government Region of the state.
An assertion gave in Ilorin yesterday and endorsed by the Advertising Official of MSCDC, Mr. Ayoola Micheal Shola, expressed that the suspect was captured following a protest recorded against him.
As per the assertion, “On Monday, February 19, 2024, at around 13:35 hours, the complainant (name kept) recorded a grumbling at the orientation unit against one Idowu Mahmud who began physically attacking her since November, 2023.
“The person in question, who is a cousin to the suspect’s significant other, has been living with the couple at 11 years old.
“Detailing the case at the order’s base camp in Ilorin, the casualty placed that the suspect has been physically attacking her since November 2023, especially on Sundays when there could be no different tenants at home.
“She additionally expressed that the suspect took steps to hurt her assuming she at any point revealed the unlawful relationship to anybody.”
That’s what the assertion added “upon cross examination, the suspect admitted to the wrongdoing and will be charged to a court of capable locale to facilitate equity.”
In the mean time, the state Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Umar Mohammed, who communicated alarm over the disturbing expansion in instances of assault and contamination of minors, underlined that culprits of such horrifying demonstrations would confront serious results of their activities.
