The Free Public Electing Commission INEC has suspended continuous re-run races in a supporters because of what it portrayed as “disturbances, anomalies and snatching of political decision authorities”.
Public Official and Director, Data and Elector Schooling Council, Sam Olumekun revealed this in an explanation gave Saturday in Abuja.
The impacted regions are Ikono/Ini Government Voting demographic, Akwa Ibom State. Suspension of races in two Surveying Units (Town Lobby, EdemUrua 003 in Ini LGA and Town Corridor Mbiabong Ikot Udo 003 in Ikono LGA) where all political decision materials were trucked away by hooligans.
“Enugu South 1 State Body electorate, Enugu State. Suspension of decisions in each of the eight Surveying Units where the first outcomes sheets were not accessible for examination by electors before the beginning of surveys.
“Kunchi/Tsanyawa State Body electorate, Kano State. Suspension of races in every one of the ten Surveying Units in Kunchi LGA because of attack, vandalization, and disturbance by hooligans”, he expressed.
Olumekun said the choice of the Commission lines up with the arrangements of Segment 24(3) of the Constituent Demonstration, 2022.
“Further fundamental measures for the impacted voting demographics will be declared after the Commission’s gathering on Monday.
“INEC welcomes the security organizations to explore the occurrences, while the Commission focuses on completely grilling any breaks including its authorities”, he added.
