Prosper Ebhoze, 39, was detained in a correctional facility by the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Monday for allegedly defiling an 11-year-old girl.
Mr. Ebhoze, who lives off Oka-Omo Street at No. 14 Oke-Owo. The city of Alapere-Ketu in Lagos is accused of defilement.
After rejecting Mr. Ebhoze’s plea, Chief Magistrate M.O. Tanimola postponed the case till March 13 in order to obtain legal counsel from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions’ office.
Earlier, Insp. Donjour Perezi, the prosecutor, informed the court that Mr. Ebhoze had committed the crime on Oja-Omo Street at noon. Lagos, Ketu, Alapere.
According to Mr. Perezi, the girl was sent home with some supplies after school.
He claimed that the child went to her father’s store to let her know.father; regrettably, she was unable to locate him in his workshop; nevertheless, she was able to see the defendant, her father’s apprentice.
He led her to a corner and violated her by covering her lips. “And he threatened to kill,” stated Mr. Perezi.
According to the prosecutor, the offense was against section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Law.
