Police Arrest Fleeing suspect over Kidnap and Murder of 14-year-old Boy in Kano

Ismail Rabiu, a fugitive suspect, has been taken into custody by the Kano State Police Command in relation to the abduction and savage murder of Abdullahi Sani, a 14-year-old child.

According to LIB, the victim was killed after being abducted by his father’s neighbors in the state’s Hotoron Fulani Quarters.

Ismail Adamu, the main suspect, confessed that he had planned with the escaping suspect, abducted the victim, brought him to Sabuwar Zara village, where they had stabbed him in the neck and thrown him into a soakaway pit at an incomplete structure. After that, they had contacted the victim’s father and demanded a ransom of N4 million.

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the command’s spokeswoman, announced the most recent development in a statement.

The Command of the Kano State Police is happy.to declare an important advancement in the continuing investigation into the horrific kidnapping and murder case that took place at Hotoron Fulani Quarters, Kano, on August 2, 2024, at around 1100 hours. Ismail Rabiu,’m’, A.K.A. Risi, who was thought to be a major player in this heinous crime, was caught by the Command after extensive investigations and unrelenting efforts, according to the statement.

“As you may remember, on December 2, 2024, Ismail Adamu, the main suspect in the abduction and subsequent sad death of Abdullahi Sani, a 14-year-old’m’ from Hotoron Fulani Quarters in Kano, was taken into custody. Adamu is 22 years old.

“The suspect named the aforementioned Ismail Rabiu A.K.A. Risi as his accomplice in the commission of the act over the course of the investigation. Both Following the conclusion of the inquiry, the suspects—who have admitted to the crime—will face charges in court.

“The Commissioner of Police restates the Command’s steadfast dedication to defending the lives and property of Kano State citizens. He went on to promise that such illegal activity would not be accepted and that the law will work its course to see to it that justice is served.

“Lastly, the Commissioner of Police expressed his sincere condolences to the deceased’s family and loved ones during this difficult time, as well as his gratitude to those who provided information that helped lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

“The State’s good citizens are appreciated by the Commissioner of Police for their cooperation, understanding, and support.
