Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has announced that any officer of the Park Management System (PMS) shall be held accountable for any crimes committed by them.
At the PMS officials’ inauguration, which was presided over by Alhaji Tomiwa Omolewa, Makinde made this statement.
Speaking during the gathering at the House of Chiefs Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, the governor cautioned the recently sworn-in executive members to keep the state’s law and order intact.
He went on to say that everyone who commits an offense will be held responsible for it.
Makinde emphasized that his government will not put up with any disturbance of the peace in the state while being represented by Mr. Olusegun Olayiwola, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
The PMS was then charged by himThe governor reassured Exco that his administration will continue to support them and urged them to be proactive in detecting and resolving any possible issues that might escalate into violence.
“May I take this opportunity to inform you that the Oyo State Government, your employer, will hold you immediately accountable for any actions detrimental to the well-being and development of Oyo State.”
It is important to mention that our parks provide an essential area for leisure, socializing, and community building. For this reason, it is necessary to streamline park operations and hold park management responsible for their actions.
“Let me say up front that the state will not support any bad behavior, including the use of illegal substances for drinking or engaging in other nefarious activities in the parks.”
