Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has urged Peter Obi to back President Bola Tinubu’s reelection.
On Monday in Lafia, Sule made the call when Obi paid him a visit. In the general elections of 2023, Obi ran as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
The governor insisted that the president needs the backing of all Nigerians in order to advance the country, claiming that elections had concluded.
“I am aware that you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to assist the president in the best interests of the nation as a whole. Since we were all in Lagos at one point and the president is your friend and colleague, you have an obligation to do your share to further the nation’s progress.
“You can discreetly fulfill your quota since the president requires all the assistance required to put the nation back on course,” Sule stated.
He added that well-meaning folks like Obi ought to back the president because he cannot solve the country’s current problems on his own.
He went on to say that the president has good intentions for the nation and urged Nigerians to stand with him as he tackles issues like insecurity, economic hardship, and other problems facing the nation.
Sule applauded Obi for boring holes in a few settlements inside the state, stating that this act had bolstered the government’s attempts to lessen the suffering of the populace.
Prior to the visit, Obi indicated that it was a part of his countrywide tour to help Nigerians observe Ramadan. He praised Sule for building new roads around the state, noting that the action has provided the state a makeover.
“I want Nigeria to function for the benefit of everyone, but I’m not yearning to be this country’s president. I always give individuals credit for their accomplishments because, in my opinion, politics is not about always being nasty.
“So, I commend you for the road networks in the state,” he continued. On Monday in Lafia, Sule made the call when Obi paid him a visit. In the general elections of 2023, Obi ran as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
