In response to the surge in insecurity in Plateau State, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has deployed a new Commissioner of Police to the area. The announcement was made by the Plateau State Police Command’s spokesperson, Alabo Alfred, who released a statement on the matter.
According to the statement, the new Commissioner of Police is Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, who hails from Boluwaduro Local Government Area of Osun State. CP Adesina is the 45th person to hold the position of Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, and he will be taking over from his predecessor, CP Hassan Steve Yabanet, who has been transferred to CP Benue State Command.
The deployment of CP Adesina comes after recent attacks by bandits on two communities, Mandung-Mushu and Kopnanle, in Bokkos and Mangu local government areas of Plateau State. The attacks have caused considerable concern among residents, prompting the authorities to take swift action to address the situation.
