SMEDAN Empowers Entrepreneurs with AI Training in Ogun State

In a world where technology is constantly evolving, it is crucial for everyone to keep up with the latest developments. However, not everyone has access to the necessary tools and resources to do so. This often leaves the less privileged behind and widens the gap between the haves and have-nots. But, Charles Odii, the CEO of Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), in collaboration with Microsoft Nigeria, is on a mission to bridge this gap and empower the less privileged with the latest technology.

Recently, SMEDAN and Microsoft Nigeria joined forces to train 500 market vendors, women, and youth in Ogun State, Nigeria, on the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This initiative aims to provide these individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to stay relevant and competitive in today’s fast-paced world and, most importantly, help them scale their businesses.

The primary goal of this training is to empower these individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to utilize AI in their businesses. AI has the power to revolutionize the business industry by increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and ultimately leading to higher profits. By training these individuals, SMEDAN and Microsoft are not only helping them improve their businesses but also creating a more inclusive and advanced economy.

AI technology is increasingly being used in various industries, including healthcare, finance, marketing, and education. With this training, the less privileged in Ogun State can tap into these opportunities and improve their businesses, giving them a competitive edge.

The training program covered topics such as the basics of AI, its applications, and its potential impact on businesses. Participants also learned how to use AI tools and techniques to analyze data, make predictions, and generate insights that can help them make informed decisions to increase their revenue and profitability. The training was tailored to the specific needs and challenges of the market vendors, women, and youth to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.

Charles Odii, a renowned champion for small and medium enterprises, highlighted the importance of equipping everyone with the necessary knowledge and skills to thrive in the digital world. He emphasized, “This AI training is not just about providing opportunities for the less privileged; it is about creating a level playing field and empowering them to take advantage of the same opportunities as the privileged few.”

Through this training, the less privileged are not only gaining access to advanced technology but also gaining a competitive edge in their respective business sectors. With the knowledge of AI, they can automate processes, make better and data-driven decisions, and streamline their operations, resulting in improved efficiency and increased profits. This, in turn, will have a positive impact on their livelihoods and the overall economy of Ogun State.

SMEDAN’s collaboration with Microsoft Nigeria to train the less privileged on AI is a significant step towards achieving this goal. Charles Odii is leading the way in creating an inclusive society where everyone has equal access to opportunities, regardless of their socioeconomic status. With this initiative, we can empower the less privileged, bridge the gap, and create a more advanced and inclusive economy.
