Despite a Court Order, Lagos Protesters Continue their Street Procession.

The #Endbadgovernance protests in Lagos continued to hold street processions in the nation’s commercial capital despite a court order restricting them to specific locations. Advertisement A Lagos High Court granted the State’s Attorney General Lawal Pedro (SAN)’s ex parte application on Wednesday to limit the nationwide protest to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota and the Peace Park in Ketu.

The order of pre-emptive remedy was granted by Justice Emmanuel Ogundare in the form of an interim injunction to prevent the defendants from convergently carrying out the proposed protests in Lagos between August 1 and 10, with the exception of the two approved locations, which are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Also, check out the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protest that has businesses closing and empty roads.

However, the defiant protesters marched from Alausa to Ojota on Thursday, singing songs of solidarity and bringing the government’s attention to the plight of the people. Advertisement Advertisement They branded placards with a variety of slogans, including “This hunger is too much,” “Stop corporate capture,” “Reverse electricity tariff now,” and “We need new mass workers party to change Nigeria.”

Advertisement The demonstrators blasted the country’s economic and hunger conditions while briefing journalists in Alausa. Tokunbo Abaniwonda, the Divisional Police Officer of Alausa, was on the ground to receive them. He advised them to go to Gani Fawehinmi Park to voice their complaints because Alausa is not the designated location.
