Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has awarded a permanent and pensionable position to Dayyabu Haladu, a casual worker at the state Pilgrims Welfare Board who returned missing $16,000 during the previous Hajj operation in Saudi Arabia.

This was said by his Press Secretary, Malam Bature Dawakin Tofa, in Kano on Tuesday. Gov. Yusuf also promised him a million-dollar present and an automatic spot in the next Hajj.

The governor made the announcement while reviewing the board’s report for the 2023 Hajj. He thanked the casual employee for exhibiting self-satisfaction. He stated that Dayyabu’s character was admirable and worthy of imitation by all and everyone.

“As a casual employee with a meager salary, this gentleman was able to recoup the lost funds.”

“It shows how this person has a fear of Allah and he deserved to be celebrated,” he went on to say.

Yusuf urged Kano residents to uphold the state’s hard-earned reputation by demonstrating the characteristics of integrity, self-discipline, and happiness in order to live a happy life.

In response, the recipient stated that he returned the missing money to the state Pilgrims Welfare Board out of fear of Allah, knowing full well that it is not right to utilize what does not belong to him despite the current economic difficulties.

He thanked the governor for his generosity, stating That that was the happiest time of his life. Meanwhile, the governor has pledged that the government would soon honor the legendary tricyclist Auwalu Salisu, who returned a lost 16 million belonging to a foreigner.
