President Bola Tinubu yesterday formally gave All Progressive Congress (APC) endorsement flags to APC candidates running in the November 11 gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo states.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo, who is vying for a second term, Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa, and Usman Ododo of Kogi were among those who got the flags.
The ceremony, held at the State House Banquet Hall, was attended by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje,
National Working Committee (NWC) members, and the candidates’ guests.
Remember that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) scheduled off-season elections in the three states on November 11, 2023.
Ganduje accompanied the three candidates to the Presidential Villa, where they were presented with their flags.
“I am everything We are calling for free and fair elections. ”I believe we will perform well,” stated the President.
Tinubu praised the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, for “working hard to hand over to another product of our party, Usman Ododo.” He hailed “Hope Uzodimma, the great hope of our party, and the chairman, Progressive Governors’ Forum” for the “good job” they had been doing.
“Timipre Sylva, congratulations on your accomplishments as a former governor and former minister of petroleum resources,” he continued. We’re all on a crusade for democracy, especially in this off-season election. It is our wish, and my hope, that you will always come out triumphant.”
