Bandits Open Fire On Maulud Celebrants In Katsina, Killing 20

Armed bandits killed at least 20 people and kidnapped many more as they targeted Muslim faithful celebrating Maulud in Kusa, a village in Katsina State’s Musawa Local Government Area.

According to the source, the perpetrators targeted the unsuspecting villagers about 11:05 p.m., causing confusion and misery in the town.

“The bandits surrounded the venue of the Maulud celebration and fired gunshots at the participants, injuring many and taking several captives to an unknown location,” claimed a vigilante member who verified the violent assault to Southernrobin. The perpetrators had vanished into their hideouts before the security personnel could respond to the distress call. We discovered 20 dead inside the village after the incident.”

The cops confirmed the report ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, a spokesperson in Katsina, stated. “Yes, there was an attack in Musawa LGA around 11 p.m. during the Maulud procession.” Bandits opened fire, injuring 18 people. They were flown to a hospital for treatment. Two of them died later on. Further investigation is underway in order to apprehend the perpetrators of these crimes and bring them to justice.”
