The residents of the Ala Imenyi autonomous community of Lomara, Umunnochi Local Government Area of Abia State, have notified the Abia State Government of the discovery of an object in their community that is suspected to be a bomb.
They made the report over the weekend during a visit to Hon. Mathias Umeh, the member of the Abia State House of Assembly representing the Umunnochi constituency.
Speaking through their traditional ruler, HRH, Eze Luke Uchechukwu; President General, John Ejiofor; and other leaders, they stated that the visit was to inform the state government about the bomb scare.
The Ala Imenyi people, who say their lands have been plagued by various forms of insecurity in recent years, have expressed gratitude to Governor Alex Otti’s new administration for bringing the situation under control.
He brought the situation under control with his security strategies, calling for the continuation of the war against bandits.
They urged the state government to locate more development projects in their neighborhood.
Umeh responded by promising to communicate the Ala Imenyi people’s reports to the Abia State Government.
Umeh, who thanked Otti for responding to the terrible insecurity situation that had previously reigned in Umunnochi, assured his people that kidnappings, armed robbery, and other forms of crime would never be tolerated in Umunnochi.
