The government of Katsina State has declared that Friday, April 12, 2024, will be a holiday in the state. This is to allow employees to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, which is the end of Ramadan fasting.
This was disclosed in a statement provided the media on Tuesday by the state commissioner for information and culture, Bala Zango, and signed by the governor of the state, Dikko Radda.
According to the governor, the extra day off was implemented so that state employees may completely enjoy the Sallah festivities with their families.
This comes after the Eid-el-Fitr public holidays were extended by the federal government to Thursday, April 11, The declaration headed “Ed-Fitr: Gov Dikko “His Excellency the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, has declared Friday, April 12, 2024, a work-free day,” the statement from Radda stated.
“Katsina State Government’s decision to declare Friday as a free day follows the good gesture of the Federal Government for extending Ed-fitr public holidays to Thursday, 11th of this month.” PDP asks for ongoing prayers for the country’s progress on Eid el-Fitr.
Malam Dikko Radda claims that his administration has also made this move to allow state employees to fully enjoy the Eid-el-Fitr Sallah festival with their family.
“Gov Radda then sends her best wishes for a joyous and tranquil Sallah celebration to the kind people of Katsina state. He also exhorted people to pray for peace and to be aware of their security rule over the state and the country as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr this year.
During the celebration, the governor also asked the people of the state to put security first and to pray for peace to reign throughout the state and the country.
