President Tinubu has approved a two-month free ride on the Abuja Rail Mass Transit, according to Minister Nyesom Wike. The metro line is set to be inaugurated on May 27, with President Tinubu scheduled to take the inaugural ride.
Wike emphasized that this inauguration isn’t about the physical infrastructure, which was commissioned previously, but about initiating commercial operations. He highlighted the administration’s efforts to rehabilitate the system and ensure it’s operational for public use.
Wike also noted challenges such as the lack of access roads to train stations, hindering commercial operations. The rejuvenation of the rail transport system aligns with President Tinubu’s directive, who expressed his desire to ride on the metro line.
